Mandatory vasectomies?

Mickey Dollens, the Oklahoma legislator, has proposed a law that would require all males who reach puberty to undergo a vasectomy, demonstrating, yet again, the sorry state of the democrat party today. Years ago the party had genuinely smart people, such as Daniel Patrick Moynihan. The New York democrat held views on generational poverty and crime among blacks that many found repugnant. But even his staunchest critics were hard pressed to discredit his views which, many were forced to acknowledge, were well reasoned and based on years of solid research. Now comes Dollens who, in an effort to score political points and appease the riotous mob, comes up with this proposal. This is obviously a reaction to the rumor that Roe v Wade will be overturned. And like most of the current democrat provender it is devoid of logical analysis and there is no research to back it up. Anybody who has paid even casual attention to the law realizes that a law preventing unfettered access to abortion is not analogous to a law that makes vasectomies mandatory. Abortion restrictions will provide some level of protection to the unborn; but compulsory vasectomies will provide no protection against unwanted pregnancies, as such events happen in a thousand different ways. Then there the issue of parental control over the lives of minors. Dollens is just like so many government and teacher’s union officials who would whittle away at parental rights even as they ramp up their efforts to indoctrinate children under the guise of giving them a superior education.
